Now, of course, there are too many online threats nowadays, because nowadays the Internet is very popular as a tool. That is, the Internet is a relatively unprotected, widely and permanently used medium as a key in the conduct of some businesses, banking or e-commerce. To avoid some threats as I mentioned above, you need to keep an eye on more sites on which to enter or click, this most often happens on social networks: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. It's also good to somehow protect these social networks, that is, to protect our personal information. Therefore, it's good that we do not enter any personal data on all networks over the Internet.

Checking the settings, configuration and privacy sections to see what options you have to limit who and what groups can see various aspects of your personal information. Facebook probably has some of the broadest privacy options, giving you control where no one, friends, friends and networks, or everyone can see basic info, personal info, photos, friends and postings.Be careful who you give your username and passwords to – There are a lot of good social networking and Twitter aggregation, notification, and monitoring services.. Many of these services need your social networking credentials to work. Be wary of who keeps these and where they are stored. Read the fine print on the agreement before you fork over your username and passwords to companies you don’t know.

Cyber Bullying:
1. Don’t respond to any messages you receive.
2. Don’t try and deal with it alone - talk to someone about it.
3. Remember, social media is there to be fun! By following these guidelines you’ll be keeping safe and avoiding a situation that may spoil your social media use.
4. Report the person bullying you (through the social network and, if it’s serious, through the police as well).
5. Don’t answer any calls from an unknown number.
6. Don’t respond to any messages you receive.
7. Keep the messages you have been sent so you can show someone.

Online threats are recognizable, because they usually ask for personal information and/or offer a reward for joining their website.

Then they lure you by telling you about the world they live in and all the suffering that they have been through, which in the end results in you joining them in their cause.

In order to avoid this you should first fin a safe web searcher, ex: duckduckgo , and then be careful which websites you visit. Always check the information on multiple websites , and don't accept every offer that is given to you.

1.Technological development in internet technology has made it possible for tasks that were once a dream, i.e. video conferencing, online shopping, online banking, email and e-learning amongst others to become a reality. In an attempt to try to cut their operational costs and maximise on profits, corporate organizations as well as emerging small business are relying on this tool. Home users and students too are continually embracing it. The benefits, convenience and flexibility that have been brought about as a result of internet technology cannot in anyway be underestimated. Nonetheless, this has not come without some cost. Malicious programs, i.e. viruses, spyware, phishing sites, Trojans and other malicious malware have been designed to not only cause havoc but to also steal your personal data. Online threats are varied in nature. All online threats have varying traits.
Examples:
1. Phishing - The term phishing is used in computing terms to denote the action of sending someone an email message lying to them that it is an authentic letter from a well established firm all in a bid to try to corn the user into giving you personal information that can be used in assuming their identity. The email in most cases refers the user to a particular web site where they are requested to reveal some personal details, i.e. credit card numbers, password, bank details and social security numbers
2. Spyware - The word “spyware” denote to application programs that are downloaded from the web onto your PC without your knowledge. These programs have been specially designed to display spontaneous adverts commonly referred to as “adware”, gather personal details about the user or to make changes to the system such that it opens back doors to allow unauthorized users to gain access to your PC without your consent.

2. Don’t let the bad guys take their cut from your personal bank account. Here are few steps you can take to better protect yourself from danger.
-Defend your devices - Think about all the sensitive information stored on your mobile phone. Some people store private contacts. Others keep online banking data on our phones or use their phones as mobile wallets.
- Create strong passwords - Virtually every account we create online asks us to create a unique password. Is it any wonder, then, that far too many of us use easily cracked passwords like our pet’s name or “1234”.Don’t get hacked because you set a lazy password or PIN. Microsoft recommends you choose passwords that are “unique, long and strong.” It also recommends you keep your passwords to yourself.
- Protect Sensitive Personal Information
- Use Social Networks More Safely

Most of the people in the world use the Internet. Some of them are using it for work, the others are using it for fun and there is a special group which is using it for breaking the law. With the help of the internet the special ones are finding their victims. They are meeting them and abusing them. Some of the online threats we can easily recognize, but on the other side are online threats that we can't recognize at all bc someone is good in his job while hidding behind his mask. We can recognize them if the person we are chatting with or the random site is looking for our personal information.

Image-based SPAM has increased in the past year, and a higher percentage is making it past SPAM filters. The reason this happens is the images are varied each time a message is sent out. SPAM images are just slightly changed each time the message is sent. The difference may be a change in the border, or the variance of one pixel, but the change is enough to get past traditional content and signature-scanning filters. These SPAM messages are compared to snowflakes, because each one looks similar, but is different. Every image is in fact unique, but from a distance it will look identical.
E-mail Spoofing is when an email message appears to have originated from one source when it actually was sent from another source. E-mail spoofing is often an attempt to trick the user into making a damaging statement or releasing sensitive information (such as passwords).

Naturally, the best way to protect your reputation is to watch what you say online and put your best foot forward. Think about all the sensitive information stored on your mobile phone. Some people store private contacts. Others keep online banking data on our phones or use their phones as mobile wallets. A small percentage of Americans even have naked selfies saved. Virtually every account we create online asks us to create a unique password. Is it any wonder, then, that far too many of us use easily cracked passwords like our pet’s name or “1234”?
Don’t get hacked because you set a lazy password or PIN. Microsoft recommends you choose passwords that are “unique, long and strong.” It also recommends you keep your passwords to yourself, no matter how much it’s killing you to tell someone. . What happens if someone pulls information from Facebook to steal your identity? Or, worse yet, what if a stranger is watching your check-ins and tags to know where you physically are at all times?
Being safe on social media means being private on social media with personal details. Regularly review your Facebook privacy settings to make sure you’re not sharing anything you’d rather stay private, such as your phone number.

Good antivirus program can reduce the possibility for online threats. We should reduce personal data online too. Reducing words and data when sharing is a good approach in online communication.

There are many ways to avoid online threats. For example if the threat is coming from a stranger that you are texting with, or a random site, we should step out and report him/it. The least we need to do is give them our personal information or from our friends, family etc. bc with that you are putting yours and live of others in risk. In order to save the others and not let them be misinfromed, we need to warn them. Also the threat can come from an app, so you need to avoid downloading suspicious apps and install a strong antivirus program.

When there is someone who is threating us first of all we need to stop any contact with him and report him. Then we need to share the information about him, so we will isolate him for no next victims.. As i said that the threat can come also from an app. In order to stop that we need to install strong antivirus program. And it is important to remember to protect your private informations and to tell your friends to do the same things. Also i will advice you not to use your credit card informations on your phone or buying online from unknown sources bc you can be easily a victim of theft.

Online threats are hard to recognize because the hackers are hidden very well behind their masks. Hackers are finding their victims by collecting theirs personal informations that they had provided online. For example on the mail we are getting messages from unknown source in which we are given some money or travel reward and everything we need to do to “win“ it is to give us our personal inforamation. We should avoid that and try to report the souce and inform others. Also if we are chatting with somone we don’t know and he starts asking us about our personal informations we need to note his sole purpose - do something that can put our life in risk.

Hristina said

at 1:31 am on Oct 31, 2017

Even if you are cyber attacked but you weren't provided any personal infos about yourself the hackers has nothing to do. But if you provided every single detail about you and your life it means that you have big problem. With leaving informations about you like your home adress, location, credit card on the internet you think that noone can see it but you are lying yourself. You can also avoid online threats by creating strong password not like 1234 or anything that can even 90yrs old grandma guess. Then we should use the same password on every single account that we have and also we shouldn't tell anyone the password no matter what he offeres.

First of all we need to know the right definion for radicalisation and extremism. The most important thing in it is that they can cause violent, fight, hate between people or the worst war. Violent is everywhere around us. It is in every corner in which we are or aren't looking in. We can try to change that with changing the thoughts of the people that are causing violet. Advicing them to discover something more about it, go to seminars etc. Also, one has to be aware of the type and amount of personal information he displays and makes available on his social accounts, because with doing that he automatically becomes more vulnerable to groups which aims are to radicate individuals and spread wrong views and thoughts.

You should never post something that can be misunderstood or that can insult someone, that is a way you can keep yourself safe from the threats.
But if someone finds a way to threaten you anyway, you should report that person, change your password, delete/block the person.

Don’t reveal information about you that could be used to steal your identity (e.g. date and place of birth), or that might reveal your actual whereabouts.Keep your account settings private on social media, that way you know who is viewing your profile. Be aware that online groups that appear to be private are not guaranteed to be, so don’t share personal information.Keep an eye out for phishing emails which are allegedly from social networking sites, but actually encouraging you to visit fraudulent or inappropriate websites. If you’re unsure about an email, block the sender, delete the email and make sure you don’t click on any of the links.

Online threats can't be easily recognized bc hackers or even people that we know with using their skills can put our life in risk. Btw they don't need some skills to do that bc we with our action of sharing every singe detail of us are just making it easier for them. For example we are getting a message from unknown and his looking for our personal information so we can "win" a trip or a price. In order to get "rich" we are putting our life in risk. Also i will advice you not to use your credit card informations on your phone or buying online from unknown sources bc you can be easily a victim of theft.

There are hackers lurking in every corner of the web. Some are teenagers with minor technical skill, some are pranksters, and some are just vandals. But they all have a lot of help; there are at least 30,000 web sites dedicated to helping hackers. Hackers can delete personal information, and even use your personal computer to send SPAM. A firewall separates your computer from the Internet and decides what gets in or out. Firewalls are the most effective Internet Security defense against other intruders. Most Internet Security Software products contain a Firewall feature. There are hundreds of new computer viruses created every month. Some are relatively harmless, but most are designed to delete files, compromise your confidential information, or damage your operating system.

1. You can recognize online threats if they are sent as emails which are considered as spam and have a different purpose than the content they display. You shouldn't accept free programs from sources you do not know and trust and you shouldn't access any platforms which are considered insecure and untrustworthy. Also, online threats are inside of the social media sites, so the way of recognize is most common the way of speech , the words that are used.

3. We need to write a report to the privacy and terms of use center that some member of their's web site is sending online threats to other people. We need to stop using the website for a while, because if we continue using for sure the threats are going to be there again. We need to be honest and tell to our beloved ones about receiving online threat to make something with their help for avoiding and not receiving threats in near future online. Because it's so dangerous getting threats and telling nobody about that.

Online threats to our security exist wherever we are, however, these threats are more pronounced on the Internet, because there we usually can not see who we are communicating with. It is especially important to develop our information skills and literacy and to behave carefully when online. Many of us when we are on the Internet are unaware of the information we post, because communication on the Internet and a person in an instant is not the same, we often lose out on the computer from reality and how our interlocutor reacts to the conversation. My opinion is that a very small part of our friends realize that all Internet activities remain recorded somewhere on the Internet and can be tracked. Irresponsible online behavior raises a number of security issues, ranging from intimidation over the Internet and risky contact through chat channels, to fraud when purchasing or doing other online transactions.(google translate-macedonian)

Verbal threats and blackmail are some of the cases.

Online threats to our security exist wherever we are, however, these threats are more pronounced on the Internet, especially when we are on facebook because we usually can not see who we are communicating with. It is of particular importance that we know that all our friends, and especially those who do not know in reality or from distant cities or other countries, be extremely cautious because we do not know their true intentions for our friendship. Often we get carried away by beautiful photos, their adventures and similar things that we ourselves want to happen to us in life, and the environment does not limit us to live that imagined life, and with that we can be the target of online fraudsters. My opinion is that we need to be very careful about social networks because in this way we can become a victim of the social network.
